Matchday Experience Guide

22nd April

With limited numbers of fans in stadiums the matchday experience will be very different to what you will be used to. Below we have outlined a step-by-step guide for more information on what to expect and what measures we are taking to ensure everyone stays safe at The Hawthorns.

Sandwell Public Health encourage all supporters attending the match to take a lateral flow test on the day of the match before leaving to attend. If you receive a positive result please do not attend the Stadium.

Step 1

You will be sent your e-ticket via email when completing your ticket purchase. Please note that stilecards will not be in use. Each e-ticket must be printed on an A4 sheet of paper or shown on a smartphone.

Step 2

All attendees will be allocated an arrival time which you can find on your e-ticket. Please plan your travel accordingly to ensure you arrive at the Stadium during your time slot. If you are planning to use public transport you can plan your journey here.

If you are planning to drive please check for local car parking facilities and confirm their availability on a matchday. There will be no official car parking available to purchase from the Club.

Step 3

The concourse kiosks will not be open and you won't be able to purchase food or drink inside the stadium. Please check their websites to see if Greggs, McDonalds, Starbucks and Subway, all located near to the stadium will be open, or fans can bring food and soft drinks with them in a clear plastic bag. As per a normal matchday you cannot bring cans, glass containers or alcohol into the ground with you.

When arriving at the Stadium make your way to your allocated turnstile and ensure you are wearing a face mask or visor. Stewards will ask to see your e-tickets at this point.

Step 4

The Megastore will not be open and matchday programmes will not be available to buy. When you come on site you will join a socially-distanced queue at your designated turnstile, which will be printed on your e-ticket.

Step 5

When you reach the turnstiles you can sanitise your hands from the dispensers at the point of entry and then scan your tickets to pass through the turnstiles.

Step 6

When entering the concourse the Stewards will conduct COVID-safe security checks and you will then be asked to follow the one-way directional signage to your seat.

Step 7

Please sit in your allocated seat so we can ensure we maintain safe social distancing between fans. You must wear your face mask or visor at all times, even when sat in the Stadium bowl.

You can leave your seat to use the toilet facilities but you will not be allowed to exit the stadium to smoke or vape at any point.

If the ball is kicked into the stand please do not throw it back, a member of staff will come to collect and sanitise it before it is returned to the field.

Step 8

At full time Stewards will ask supporters on each row in turn to leave the Stadium, please be patient while we safely get fans out of the Stadium.

Step 9

After exiting the Stadium please make your way to your transport home. The players will not be able to sign autographs or pose for pictures so please do not wait to see them.
