A fast, tenacious right-back, Deago is pushing to make an impression at The Hawthorns.

Nelson is confident both on and off the ball when carrying out his defensive and attacking duties. The tenacious wide defender, who first joined Albion at U13s level, has grown up in Birmingham during his progression through the club's academy ranks.

Deago's pace has been a key outlet for both the U18s and PL2 teams, with the wide defender having an effect in both sides during his first year as a scholar.

His maiden outing in the U21s couldn't have gone much better, with the full-back setting up the winning goal in the final minute of regular time to help his young Baggies team-mates seal a 2-1 win over Leeds United in January 2023.

Following a full first season in the 18s during the 2022/23 term, as well as regular outings in Albion's PL2 side the following campaign - making 19 appearances as a second-year scholar, the full-back was handed a two-year professional contract in July 2024.

Deago was a regular for the PL2 team in the 24/25 season, once again showing his versatility at right and left-back to make 23 appearances and help the U21s reach the quarter-final of the PL Cup.

Although that achievement will have been surpassed when reflecting on the campaign as a whole after making his senior debut for the Baggies as a substitute against Fleetwood Town in August 2024.

Further inclusions in the senior matchday squad followed over the course of the campaign, with Nelson among the Albion subs for matches against Hull, Burnley and Sunderland. He will be keen for more of those chances, either at The Hawthorns or away on loan, to progress his career towards playing regular men's football.
