Bio
From Northampton, Rio has spent much of his life with the Baggies.
He's an attacking midfielder who likes to make things happen in the final third. At 6ft 2in tall, Rio exhibits plenty of attributes to suit his role in the team due to his stature.
Parmar signed scholarship terms in the summer of 2024 and quickly impressed in the U18s setup during the 24/25 campaign.
His main attributes, given his position, include flair, dribbling, passing and goalscoring - all of which were exhibited during the 24/25 season, which he ended with 14 goal contributions to his name (eight goals, four assists).
Up front, in the No.10 role, and out wide were a few of the positions Rio occupied in his first term as a scholar, and although he only became a scholar in 2024, the club's academy staff were keen to offer Parmar his maiden pro deal towards the end of first campaign in the scholarship group.
His performances in the FA Youth Cup helped the 18s reach the quarter-finals of the competition in 2025, and a two-year professional deal soon followed off the back of that achievement, keeping him in B71 until 2027.
Further developing his end product will be key for Parmar's progression at the Albion, and he'll hope more football in the 21s can help perfect that part of his game while edging him closer to a professional future in the men's game.
